It’s been more than 10 years since I started writing code. Here’s what I’ve noticed about how I’m writing code this year.
The editor
Lately, I’ve been in love with the GitHub UI file editor. It’s minimalistic. No plugins. No popups. No constant suggestions. Just me and the code.

The execution layer
I’ve started using GitHub Actions runners as my execution layer.
I usually push straight to the main branch, and CI runs the tests for me. That’s it.
Why this feels different
We’re in a phase where more and more code is synthetic. Editors are aggressively suggesting the next token, the next line, the next idea.
And slowly, without realizing it, you start agreeing with the editor. You stop thinking and start accepting.
This setup helps me avoid that bias.
No autocomplete. No “smart” nudges. Just writing, pushing, and letting reality (CI) respond.
It allows me to go raw.
